Sprouting seeds are packed full of protein, vitamins and minerals and are an easy addition to salads, sandwiches, stir frys and other kinds of dishes. 

They are easy to sprout and are a quick and rewarding project for kids to do. 

 

*Only use seeds which have specifically sold as sprouting seeds or cress to ensure that they have not been treated with fertilisers*

It's as easy as...

Wash out a jar.

Next perforate the lid or stretch muslin over the neck with an elastic band.

One...

Fill the jar a third full with water and add your seeds. 

 

Leave to soak for 6 - 12 hours.

Two...

Drain the jar and put in a well ventilated space out of direct sunlight. Rinse and drain the seeds twice daily to keep them fresh. 

Three...

After 2-4 days the seeds should be ready to eat.  Allow the sprouts to dry for a couple of hours before storing in the fridge.
